We had our Turkey Distribution today at Woodville Park.We had wonderful weather and no major back-ups.
Since it was so dry we were able to park the Food Lion Semi, yes Semi! in the gravel parking lot on the exit road. Doing that we were able to run the line of cars up the main road, around the cul-de-sac and back down to the parking lot. This helped slow the cars down but once the volunteers started loading cars we never had a back-up. We were able to start distribution before 10AM which helped with traffic flow.
We handed out 371 turkeys.
As well, thank you to Nancy Bowden who brought around 200 bags of ingredients to go with a turkey dinner. These bags were assembled by volunteers at her church and given to our clients.
